Today Earth Day is Friday, April 22, 2022. Earth Day was first celebrated on April 22, 1970, when 20 million people across America celebrated their local streets, gardens, and auditoriums, demanding a healthy, sustainable environment. They were preoccupied with fog, polluted rivers, raging pollution, and their cities laden with other environmental hazards.

Earth Day 2022 Google Doodle shows impact of climate change in world

You might think that defending the Earth is a monumental task that only superheroes can do. But believe it or not, there are many things we can all do to make a difference. Even small changes can have a big impact.

Google Doodle has released real-time images showing the effects of climate change in four different parts of the world. Imagery from each location will appear on the Google homepage for a few hours.

Another imagery shows glacier retreats in Sermersooq, Greenland, using images taken every December from 2000 to 2020.
